How can I print my students’ work?

After finishing a project or a sandbox, teachers and students may want to print their outputs for many reasons, be it to showcase their work to the school’s bulletin board or they want to show them to their parents and friends.

Printing their work can be done by doing the following:

This is the default view whenever students are in a project or sandbox.

We are going to click on the Select layout button and select One tab view. This will enable us to hide the code editor panel and get a full view of the output panel.

After selecting One tab view, it will default to show the code editor panel. You need to click on the “eye” icon or the output button on the top right hand side of the page.

This will switch the view to show the output panel.

Once we are on this page, we either use CTRL + P (Command + P for Mac) or right click anywhere on the page (excluding images) and select Print…

Now, you have your students’ work printed and ready for showcasing! But if you want to take it to the next level, you as the teacher may want to consider printing QR codes for them instead! Each project and sandbox has a unique QR code embedded in them. You can scan it using smartphones and be directed to the share output link and students’ projects can be viewed on a mobile device.

To get the QR code, you can do the following:

  1. Click on the Share output button and enable sharing by clicking the “Share” slider at the toolbar from the left.

  2. Rename the QR code into something unique and then save it.

  3. Open the file and print the QR code using CTRL + P (Command + P for Mac) or the Print button.

Students can bring this QR code home and ask their parents to scan it using their smartphones’ QR scanners. This way, parents can see and experience what their children have built or created in school!
